I close my eyes and I am transported to a small cafe in Italy filled with the sounds of soft lyrical voices, the popping of the Prosecco cork and glasses meeting in a sweet salute. Welcome to one of my favorite spots for a romantic lunch. At Dolce & Salato you can sit and enjoy the warm beach breeze in downtown Naples.
This lovely lunch spot is quietly tucked away on 3rd Street South, around the corner from 5th Avenue, but in a world of its own. Everything on the menu is fresh and wonderful. Put me in a setting full of arugula, a variety of Italian meats, cheeses, tomatoes and melons and I cannot decide what to order. Thank goodness, I can ask them to put together their favorites and create a platter for two to share and I'm never disappointed. Who can resist their fresh homemade breadsticks warm from the oven with olive oil, I know I can't!

With plenty of outside seating in a dog friendly neighborhood, my sweet golden retriever enjoys accompanying me here as well. Dolce & Salato is considered an Italian Food Boutique where you can purchase coffee, wines, and imported specialities to enjoy there or take home. whatever you choose, add a little balsamic vinegar and olive oil and you are transported to another world.
